DevOps Engineer

Role overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with developers, QA engineers, architects and project teams to improve the automation, security, scalability and reliability of Cloudfy's platform and supporting services.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, supporting operational excellence initiatives, and helping embed DevSecOps principles across the software development lifecycle.
Note: This role is a 4-day per week working from our Leicester office and 1 day per week remotely.
As a DevOps Engineer at Cloudfy, you will:
Design, build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines that support efficient and reliable software delivery.
Automate build, testing, deployment and release processes to improve deployment consistency, quality and frequency.
Work closely with development teams to identify opportunities for automation and enhanced engineering workflows.
Provision, manage and optimise Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles and tooling.
Support and maintain Azure environments across Development, QA, Staging and Production.
Manage and optimise cloud services including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Front Door, Azure Storage, Service Bus, Key Vault and related platform services.
Implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions using tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
Support incident investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis to minimise disruption and improve platform reliability.
Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, resilience and operational efficiency.
Contribute to disaster recovery, backup and business continuity planning.
Embed security best practices into cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
Support vulnerability management, identity and access management, security monitoring and remediation activities.
Help implement DevSecOps principles throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Assist with compliance and governance initiatives, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls.
Contribute to platform engineering standards, architecture discussions and operational best practices.
Promote automation-first thinking and continuous improvement across the engineering organisation.
You will bring:
2-4 years of commercial experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices and release management.
Experience designing, implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using YAML and Git-based source control.
Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and cloud-hosted production environments.
Experience supporting technologies such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Front Door or similar cloud services.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts and environment management practices.
Understanding of cloud architecture, networking, application security and identity management principles.
Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and observability platforms.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and incident management skills.
Experience collaborating with software engineering, QA and technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive approach to automation, optimisation and continuous improvement.
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
Working within a SaaS software business.
Supporting Agile software development teams and delivery processes.
Knowledge of .NET applications and deployment practices.
Experience with containerisation technologies and modern cloud-native architectures.
Understanding of APIs, integrations and microservices.
Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400 or equivalent.
